Screen design 1

Name: Jason Wong Zhin-Ming
ID: 1102701493
Title: Serenity

Artist statement:
According to the artist Cynthia Fleury, she composes photos as if it was painting and that she likes something serene and quiet while being able to play with the environmental lightings. Here, I took this this serene and calm looking lake view in a small town called Cyberjaya. Like her statement and concept, my efforts in this picture was to capture the beautiful visual impact around us which is why I took this picture of a man-made structure or building that is sitting beside the lake. I just want to create a feeling and emotion of calmness for my final product yet simple on its screen design.

Artist treatment:
Canon 550D DSLR, Illustrator, Photoshop.

Screen design 2

Name: Jason Wong Zhin-Ming
ID: 1102701493
Title: Heaven's Beauty

Artist statement:
Based on the artist Beverly Claridge, her purpose on her artworks is to honour the creator. Here, I also honour the creator by creating this big spiral looking star that is shining gloriously among other little stars in outer space. I wanted to show how beautiful things are in the outer space hence creating a happy emotion. I actually challenged myself to paint this artwork as I know it could be tricky.

STAGE 01 - Digital Multimedia Artist (Research and Finding)

Artist 1

Beverly Claridge

Artist statement:
Creating art is what I love and what I must do. My purpose is to honour my Creator in producing excellent artwork that is contemplative and intelligent. I desire that my work exemplifies the amazement I feel about the ability to create. My hope is to challenge, encourage, and help instill a sense of renewal in the viewer.

Example of works:

Artist 2
 Cynthia Fleury

Artist statement:
I envision my efforts to capture on print, the beautiful visual impact of the world around us. If the viewer achieves a feeling of quiet serenity and a sense of beauty in this challenging world, I have achieved my goal as an artist. I strive to bring beauty with the interplay of color, light and composition whether in color or black and white.

As a former painter in oils, I compose my photographs as if I were doing a painting. My approach is more artistic and intuitive rather than technical. I am truly inspired by nature and its beauty and majesty as well as the natural manmade forms of bridges, arches, gardens, sculptures, and walkways. I believe that photography is an art form that if successful evokes a positive emotional response in the viewer.

Stage08- two finalized ideas

Name: Jason Wong Zhin-Ming

Title: Love Still Unites Us

Artist statement:
The rope that I used is to symbolize the male gender while the pink ribbon is female gender. Both are entangled to each other. I make it that way to show that both are couples, even though they have fought each other, they never leave each other and they are still together. It is because the love, a happy feeling, that they have for each other is great that they are still united. The clickable part is the love shaped buttons. Basically, the target audience are young adults.

Title: Even they have flaws

Artist statement:
The whole thing is supposed to resemble a woman's high heel shoe. Attached to the high heel shoe is a sharp pointing nail. The shoe symbolizes women. Also, it symbolizes emotions that women have. The nail symbolizes instability because of its sharp pointing downwards, which makes the shoe unbalance. In relation to that, the nail also symbolizes 'flaws'. The phrase 'Even they have flaws' is referring to that some women who have emotional issues and that they can't control it like nagging, anger. In this artwork, I made the clickable part on the orange looking round buttons. By looking at the shoe nervous is stimulated, probably because of the nail. Well, this artwork targets audience who are women and are young.

Photoshop, Illustrator.
